Firstly, UPSC means Union public service commission, It is agency of the central government which conducts top toughest exams for recruitment of officers.
Coming to the CDS, it means Combined Defence service exam, this CDS exam is conducted by the UPSC two times per a year like CDS 1 and CDS 2.
So, by this we can see how tough the exam is. CDS will recruit for Indian military academy(IMA), Officers Training academy(OTA), Indian Naval academy(INA), Indian Air Force(IFA).
Except OTA remaining academies will have maths part in the exam.
when a aspirant want to prepare for this exam he/she should be mentally strong and physically too. And the other main thing is books, weightage of the questions in the exam, and proper time for preparation(do not prefer for 1 month preparation, it doesn't work for any exam), and with proper analysis.

OTA:

English(we should get max marks in this part), General Knowledge (very tough, careful with this part)

Total marks 200 , cut off marks will be 80-110

IMA, INA, IAF:

English, General Knowledge, Maths (another best part to gain marks)

Total marks 300, cut off marks will be 115-140

Weightage of ENGLISH part:
